Why It Works

Sun and salt dry plastic out until it fades and chalks. Plastic Guard's silicone formula soaks into the surface to bring back the color and depth, then leaves a hydrophobic layer that sheds water and slows the next round of fading. Prep with Prep Potion first so it bonds to clean plastic, not old dressing.

How to Use

Restore

  1. Clean and decontaminate with Prep Potion. Let it flash off.
  2. Work on cool plastic, out of direct sun.
  3. Shake well.
  4. Spray onto the plastic or onto a microfiber applicator pad.
  5. Work it in with overlapping circular motions.
  6. Let it penetrate 1–2 minutes.
  7. Buff off the excess with a Sandman towel.
  8. Keep it dry for 15 minutes to cure.

Safe to Use On / Do Not Use On

✅ Safe on: unpainted exterior plastic trim · faded, chalky, or oxidized hard plastic

❌ Do not use on: rubber · vinyl · anything that gets hot — engines, engine covers, exhaust parts, lights · non-skid or any surface you walk on (slip hazard) · glass · painted surfaces

When in doubt, test in a hidden area first.

Pro Tips From the Field

  • Prep first. Old dressing and wax block the bond. A Prep Potion wipe makes it last.
  • Thin coats. More product doesn't mean more shine — it means more to buff off.
  • Buff it all off. Leftover product attracts dust and can streak in the rain.
  • Give it 15 minutes. Keep water off while it cures.
  • Cool and shaded. Hot plastic flashes the product before it soaks in.
  • Keep it off walking surfaces. Silicone makes non-skid slick.
